  1. Port Overview

  1. Ko Miang, Thailand

  2. Ko Miang is two adjoining islands in the Similan Islands, off the coast of Phang Nga Province, southern Thailand. The Similan Islands were established as a national park in 1982 and consists of nine islands. The sea in the area has an average depth of 60 feet. Underwater it is full of rock formations and coral reefs in several shapes and forms, resembling such things as deer, leaves, brains, and mushrooms. The area is considered the best place in Thailand for divers.

The central island of the group, Ko Miang, is the only island which is inhabited. There is also a number of excellent dive sites around this and the small adjoining island including one which features huge boulders leaning together forming many interesting tunnels and small caverns. Small white tip sharks, rays, snapper and turtles are just a few of the species of marine life.
