  2. Sydney is a Canadian urban community in the province of Nova Scotia. It is situated on the east coast of Cape Breton Island. Together with Sydney Mines, North Sydney, New Waterford and Glace Bay it forms the Industrial Cape Breton region.

    Tourist attractions in Sydney include Wentworth Park, the newly revitalized waterfront area and Jost House and Cossitt House which date back to the earliest settlement of the city. Most sights within the downtown are within walking distance, however most major tourist sights are well outside of the city.

During the summer the airport is served by Air Saint-Pierre (with flights from Saint-Pierre and Miquelon) and Sunwing Airlines (with flights from Toronto). Prince Edward Air also provides charter flights.

    North Sydney is the site of the Marine Atlantic terminal which serves as the main connection to Newfoundland.
