Havannah-Boulari Passage

The Havannah-Boulari Passage (or Boulari-Havannah Passage) is located approx 55 km North East of Isle of Pines, or 166km east of Noumea. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding islands and is regarded as a scenic short cut for cruise ships traveling to Vanuatu from Australia. Amadee Island is located at the start of the Havannah-Boulari Passage.

The first part of the name of the passage obviously comes from HMS Havannah skippered by Captain John Erskine which passed though the passage in 1849 on its way to Efate in Vanuatu.

Port Location – The main wharf for cruise ships is located on Wharf Road, Port Vila. It is situated approximately .5 km from the city centre.

Travel Links – Air Vanuatu is the national carrier and has flights to Port Vila from Sydney, Brisbane, Auckland, Noumea and Nandi.

There are daily Air Vanuatu flights to Port Vila from Sydney and Brisbane, and flights to Luganville Espiritu Santo once a week from either Sydney or Brisbane.
