  1. Siau Island, Indonesia

  2. Siau is an island in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, located in the Sangir Archipelago approximately 130 km (80 miles) off the northern tip of Sulawesi in the Celebes Sea. The northern part of the island forms the volcano known as Karangetang (Api Siau), which is one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes.

The island has very fertile soil. The major products are ebony, rattan, nutmeg, and coconuts. The other islands of the group are Sangihe, Tahulandang, and Biaro. The highest point is Mount Awu (1,850 m/6,070 ft), an active volcano on Sangihe. Tahuna, a town on the island of Sangihe, is the chief port of the area.
