  1. Port Overview

  1. Kuri Bay, Western Australia

  2. Kuri Bay is a remote coastal bay in the far north of Western Australia in the Kimberley region, about 370 km (230 mi) north of Broome, Western Australia. The closest main town is Derby that is located 223 km (139 mi) southwest from the bay. The bay opens directly into the Indian Ocean and the Augustus Island is located just off-shore from the bay. The bay is part of the Prince Regent Nature Reserve and the Kumunya Aboriginal Reserve.

Located in the midst of the Kunmanya Aboriginal lands, Kuri Bay, with its pristine seas supporting a rich diversity of wildlife and corals, provides a perfect cultivating ground for pearls. The Paspaley organisation has made Kuri Bay the sight of one of its pearl farms, offering a glimpse of this industry with such a fascinating past.
