  1. Port Overview

  1. Pixie Pinnacle, Queensland, Australia

  2. Pixie Pinnacles is a divesite located on the Great Barrier Reef, off Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Pixie Pinnacles is a huge cone shaped 'pyramid' rising 30 m and about 15m across. It is covered in corals hard and soft, gorgonians, sea whips and sponges. Underneath the overhangs and caves see lionfish, moray eels, shrimps, anemones with their clownfish, cleaner wrasse. Fairy Basslets create an amazing pink cloud while they feed in the current.

Pixie's pinnacle is a underwater photographers paradise. It is a unique wonder; the closer one looks, the more there is to find. A diver can circle the pinnacle in a few minutes, but this divesite requires careful study to enjoy it.
