  1. Port Overview

  1. Calvados Chain, Louisiade Archipelago, Papua New Guinea

  2. The Calvados Chain of islands is located in the Louisiades Archipelago, in the southwestern regions of the Milne Bay province of Papua New Guinea. The islands run in an easterly direction from Panasia (off Pana Tinani) to Hemenahei for around 80 km. There are approximately 19 main islands, Pana Wina being the largest island of the Chain.

The islands rise steeply from the sea, and are either thickly forested or vegetated with grasslands, and generally rise to heights of between 90 and 300 m, with many being surrounded by their own reef systems and lagoons. In addition to the high islands there are also numerous low coral islets and reefs in the area.

On Pana Wina Island there are shallow coral gardens for the snorkelers and outer reef areas for divers and fishing lovers. For a more relaxed start to the day - wander through Panabari Village and then indulge yourself with a spot of South Pacific beachcombing!
