Kaohsuing, Taiwan

Kaohsiung is a city located in southwestern Taiwan, facing the Taiwan Strait on the west. It is Taiwan’s second largest city and its largest port. The city is often known as Taiwan's "Harbor Capital" because of its close connection and heavy reliance on the ocean and maritime transportation. The city also has high concentrations of heavy industry, including steel production, shipbuilding, and other exports.

A major attraction in Kaohsiung is the Chijin district, which is located on a slender island on the western side of Kaohsiung which serves as a natural breakwater for the harbor. The district is filled with seafood restaurants selling freshly caught seafood.
