  2. Hagi is a city located in Yamaguchi, Japan and was incorporated as a city on July 1, 1932. It is one of Japan's most beautiful castle towns, with many old streets and residences that have survived untouched to the present day.

    Hagi has a number of historical areas which are worth visiting. These include Castle town, the Horiuchi area, Shoin-jinja area and Hiyako area. Here visitors will find historical buildings, museums, shrines and temples. There is also a popular beach to the east of Mt. Shizuki and north of the city center.

    Port Location – The port of Hagi is located to the north of the town centre, approximately 5 minutes on foot to the nearest train station.

    Travel Links – Iwami Airport in nearby Masuda, Shimane Prefecture serves Hagi. There is one flight per day from Haneda (Tokyo) and Itami (Osaka) on ANA. Shuttle buses run from the airport to the city (80 minutes).

    The closest Shinkansen station is Shin-Yamaguchi. Most Hikari and some Nozomi trains stop there. From Shin-Yamaguchi, the "Hagi-go" (はぎ号) bus goes to Hagi.
