  2. Bath is a city in Sagadahoc County, Maine, in the United States. Located on the Kennebec River, Bath has a long maritime history and is now home of the world–class shipbuilders at Bath Iron Works. The city is popular with tourists, many drawn by its 19th-century architecture.

    At the mouth of the Kennebec, historic Fort Popham stands guard. Nearby, Popham Beach and Reid State Park in Georgetown offer miles of sandy beach and rocky cliffs. Cultural treasures are plentiful at Bath's Maine Maritime Museum and the Chocolate Church Performing Arts Center. Beautiful Downtown Bath has a unique mix of services, shops, and restaurants. Take a walk down Front and Centre Streets, through the 19th century brick buildings and narrow streets.
