  1. Port Overview

  1. Isla Pajaros, Costa Rica

  2. Pajaros Island is located in the Gulf of Nicoya, Costa Rica. It is one of four unpopulated islands included in the national park system as a biological reserve to protect seabird-nesting colonies and spare it from tourism or other development. There are no facilities for visitors or walking trails on the island.

Pajaros Island is almost completely round and dome-shaped. It's composed of the same kind of sandstone and luttie as Guayabo Island. The vegetation consists of a low-growing forest and patches of second-growth grass. The predominant species are guava, crown fig and stinking toe. Resident animals include rock oysters, crustaceans like barnacles, and birds outcast from other groups.
