  2. Coles Bay, the hub of Tourism on Tasmania's east coast, is an Australian town on the east Coast of Tasmania located 192 km (2hrs 20min drive) north east of Hobart and 209 km (2hrs 30min drive) south east of Launceston, being the main entrance point for visitors to the Freycinet National Park.

    Coles Bay is dominated by jagged, pink granite peaks with cliffs that drop sheer into the sea. Picture postcard scenery abounds and visitors can choose between a variety of water and land-based activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, boating and Sea kayaking.

    Travel Links – Tasmania is served by several national and regional airlines, primarily flying into Hobart and Launceston. Some flights are also available to Burnie and Devonport from Melbourne.

    Tasmania is served by two Spirit of Tasmania Ferries from mainland Australia. They depart daily from Station Pier in Port Melbourne (a bayside suburb of Melbourne) and arrive at Devonport taking the full night (or the full day during peak summer periods) for the crossing.
