  1. Port Overview

  1. Sur, Oman

  2. Sur is a capital city of Ash Sharqiyah Region, northeastern Oman, on the coast of the Gulf of Oman. It is located 93 miles (150 km) southeast of the Omani capital Muscat. It is a quiet coastal town which has been an important dhow-building centre for centuries.

Attractions include its authentic souk with Middle-Eastern ware, the forts in Sur, the marine museum and dhows, or go for a stroll along the quay. It has great beaches and several interesting things to see and do nearby. For example turtle watching at Ras Al Hadd is only 45 km along the coast or The Wahiba Sands (Oman's beautiful desert) is reached within a one hour drive.
