  1. Port Overview

  1. Palea Epidauros, Greece

  2. Palea Epidauros is the gateway to the ancient sanctuary of Epidauros, a small city (polis) in ancient Greece at the Saronic Gulf. The modern town Epidavros, part of the prefecture of Argolis, was built near the ancient site. This World Heritage listed site is located at the eastern end of the Peloponnese, 62 kilometres south of the Corinthian Canal. Visitors flock here by the coachload on day trips from Athens.

Epidaurus is one of the most important ancient sites in Greece, which has become a major cultural attraction due to its rich history and its vibrant present. It has an almost perfectly preserved amphitheatre built 2,500 years ago which seats 14,000 spectators and a museum of classical antiquities. Every summer there are different cultural events such as festivals and theatrical performances. The area is surrounded by lush green landscape and has access to the sea and beautiful sandy beaches.
