Aneityum, Vanuatu

Aneityum island (also known as Anatom or Kéamu) is the southernmost inhabited island of Vanuatu. It is in the province of Tafea. The largest village is Anelghowhat (correctly, Anelcauhat). The island is surrounded by coral reefs and beautiful white sand beaches.

Aneityum has an ideal climate for bushwalking. There are over 84 varieties of orchid to see on the island, waterfalls and hot springs to visit. Opportunities for snorkelling abound with dazzling coral and abundance of tropical fish.

Port Location – The island of Aneityum is reached by launch from cruise ships anchoring inside waters between Inyeug and the mainland.

Travel Links – There is an airport, not on the main island itself, but on the tiny island to its south, Inyeug (correctly, Iñec), which has twice-weekly flights from Port Vila and Tanna.
