Koper is a coastal town and municipality and the largest commercial port in Slovenia, on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. Koper is one of the 3 towns (the other 2 are Piran & Izola) rich in culture & Venetian history with scenic beaches and a busy marina and ports.

Sights in Koper include the 15th-century Praetorian Palace in Venetian Gothic style, the 12th century Carmine Rotunda church, and the Cathedral of St Nazarius with its 14th century tower.

Port Location - The Port of Koper, Slovenia is situated at the head of Koprski Bay, which is entered between Debeli Point and Petelinji Point The city of Koper is located on the southeast coast of Koprski Bay.

Travel Links – Koper is easily reachable with bus and train. The train and bus stations are adjacent and located about 1 km south of the Muda Gate to the old city. The nearest airport is in Trieste (64 km), although Ljubljana's (124 km) is also an option.
From Ljubljana, there are hourly buses and 5-6 trains daily, both taking around two hours. There are also direct services to Trieste in Italy.
