  1. Terra Nova Bay, Antarctica

  2. Terra Nova Bay is a bay which is often ice free, about 64 km (40 miles) long, lying between Cape Washington and the Drygalski Ice Tongue along the coast of Victoria Land, Antarctica. The bay, an often ice-free area about 40 miles long is overlooked by the active volcano Mount Melbourne.

Discovered by the British National Antarctic Expedition under Scott, 1901-1904, and named by him after the Terra Nova, one of the relief ships for the expedition. The Italian Mario Zuchelli research base is located there.
