  2. Dunk Island lies 4 km off the Australian east coast, opposite the town of Mission Beach. The island forms part of the Family Islands National Park and is in the larger Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area.

    Dunk island is a luxury holiday resort which offers beautiful beaches, diving and snorkelling at the Great Barrier Reef. The island accommodation is surrounded by spectacular rainforest and palm-fringed beaches.

    There are many attractions and activities to choose from including a rainforest walk to the summit of Mt Kootaloo, a guided jet ski tour or snorkelling over the bommies at Naturalist Beach. Water skiing , tennis, parasailing and squash are also available.

    Port Location – The Port for departure to Dunk Island is located at Mission Beach.

    Travel Links – Dunk Island is accessible by Air, Coach or Car hire from Cairns Airport. Both regular flights and private charter flights operate between Cairns Airport and Dunk Island Airport. Another option is to rent a car and drive to Dunk Island. One-way or return car hire is available from Cairns Airport to Mission Beach. Or you can use a coach service which operates between Cairns Airport and Mission Beach (Port Douglas and Cairns City pick-ups on request). Two connecting ferry services operate between Mission Beach and Dunk Island- either Water Taxi or QuickCat.
