  1. Port Overview

  1. Fort Myers, Florida

  2. Fort Myers is the county seat and commercial center of Lee County, Florida, United States. The city is one of two major cities that make up the Cape Coral-Fort Myers MSA, the other being Cape Coral. It is located along the shady, moss-draped shores of the Caloosahatchee River.

Fort Myers is known as the "City of Palms" for its palm-lined streets. The major attractions are the homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, which are separated by a fence called "The Friendship Gate." The annual Edison Festival of Light Pageant celebrates the inventor's contributions to the city. For beach-goers, Fort Myers' beaches have a laid-back feel and act as a gateway to several islands, including Sanibel and Captiva Islands.
