Vohemar, Madagascar

Vohemar is a coastal city and commune in northern Madagascar. It belongs to the district of Vohemar, which is a part of Sava Region in Antsiranana Province.

The green lake (or Lake Andronotsara) 7 Km South of Vohémar is worth a visit. It owes its name to a microscopic alga. When light reflects on the surface and hits the algae, a green colour effect is produced. The phenomenon varies depending on weather and time.
