  1. Port Overview

  1. Kurashiki, Japan

  2. Kurashiki is a historic city located to the west of Okayama Prefecture, Japan, sitting on the Takahashi River, on the coast of the Inland Sea. It is one of Japan's great old merchant towns. Situated along a scenic canal at the foot of Mt. Tsurugata, Kurashiki's white-walled storehouses are beautifully preserved and open for exploration.

Kurashiki’s main attractions are located in the Bikan historic area, where there are many of the original storehouses, mills and shops in beautiful condition. There are also many museums in this area to visit.

Although the Bikan Historic District is the most popular area to visit in Kurashiki, the Tamashima area is the most easily accessible, with Shin-Kurashiki Station, accessible by Shinkansen, as the main station. Entsuji temple and Yunoki House are two attractions worth visiting in the Tamashima area.
