  1. Port Overview

  1. Alderney, British Channel Islands

  2. Alderney is one of the Channel Islands, administratively part of the Balliwick of Guernsey. The British Channel Islands are located between the United Kingdom and France. Despite being the closest to France, Alderney feels more remote than any of the other Channel Islands. It’s a paradise for nature lovers, a combination of landscapes and wildlife that are easily accessible from Guernsey by air or sea. St Anne’s, the capital, has good restaurants, lively pubs and plenty of accommodation of varying types for visitors.

Transport Links – Guernsey airport has flight links to Alderney and ferries run from St Peter Port to the other Channel Islands. “Victor Hugo”, a 199-passenger high speed catamaran, is operating a passenger service between Dielette (via Guernsey) to Alderney from April through to September.

Getting around Alderney is easy. Nowhere is very far. Everything is within walking distance, five minutes from somewhere else. You can walk the short distance from the airport to the island's capital of St. Anne's, or you can hire a taxi. During the summer season, there is a regular bus service around the island, and there is, of course, Alderney's own Orient Express, the famous Alderney Railway - an experience not to be missed. If you prefer to be mobile and independent, you can hire a bicycle or a tandem, mini-moke or a car.
