  2. Halmstad is a port, university, industrial and recreational city at the mouth of the Nissan River in Halland, south-western Sweden. It is a popular destination in the summer; tourists are attracted to its lovely beaches Tylösand and Östra stranden, its deep mushroom forests and nice fishing waters.

    Halmstad is also considered to be the capital of golf, with eleven golf courses within a short distance of each other. In the City you can choose between shopping in the petite, eccentric specialty shops or strolling along the old parts of Halmstad. You can easily take a break in one of the restaurants or cafes, or wait til nightfall when the bars and clubs are open.

    The outdoor surroundings offer many beautiful sculptures. The Museum and galleries have exhibitions with both Swedish and international artists. The well known Halmstadgroup have their own exhibit at Mjellby Art gallery. During Ascension Day the local artists and galleries open their studios and it is called "Konstliv Halland".

    Port Location – The port of Halmstad is located approximately 2 km’s from the city centre.

    Transport Links – There is an airport close to the town with connections to Stockholm Arlanda airport. The service is run by the aircraft carrier Skyways offering a few trips a day.
    It's possible to get to Halmstad by train with SJ from the south with the Malmö-line, from the north from the Göteborg-line or from the east.
    There are also bus lines to Halmstad run by Swebus Express which has connections from most major cities in Sweden.
