  1. Port Overview

  1. Bundaberg, Qld, Australia

  2. Bundaberg is a city in Queensland, Australia. The city lies on the Burnett River, approximately 385 kilometres (239 mi) north of the state capital, Brisbane and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) inland from the coast. Bundaberg is a major centre within Queensland's Wide Bay-Burnett region.

Bundaberg is perhaps best known as the home of Bundaberg Rum. You can find out how it is made and lots more information from the Bundaberg Rum Distillery. Visitors can also learn about the history of the area at the Bundaberg and District Historical Museum, or the interesting Hinkler House Museum. The Hinkler House Museum is actually Bert Hinklers House which was brought over to Australia from England and rebuilt, after he completed the first solo flight to England from Australia. The house is situated in the beautiful Botanic Gardens.

A visit to Mon Repos Beach is also popular. It is home to the Flatback Turtle, Green Turtle, Leatherback Turtle and Logger Turtle. There is a turtle rookery here, with the nesting season between November and January.
