  1. Port Overview

  1. Kodi, Indonesia

  2. Sumba is an island in eastern Indonesia, is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands, and is in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. The largest city is Waingapu. The island is well known for its sandalwood, horses, typical hand woven textile (“ikat”) and its untouched beaches. Sumba is one of the very few places globally where the neolithic/bronze age practice of burial in megaliths remains intact. Stone megaliths (and other standing stone stuctures) are widespread on the island.

Aside from a couple of resorts, tourism is very limited. However, the Kodi district offers beautiful coastal scenery and many glorious beaches, traditional villages and impressive megalithic tombstones. There are many good walks in the area around Kodi.
