  2. Raivavae is one of the Austral Islands, the southernmost group of islands in French Polynesia, an overseas collectivity of France in the South Pacific. Geographically, the Austral Islands consist of two separate archipelagos; the Tubuai islands and the Bass islands.

    Raivavae is the 3rd most southern island in the entire south pacific. It is a mountainous island surrounded by a coral reef. There are five villages; Anatonu, Rairua, Mahanatoa, Vaiuru and Matotea. There are a few small ancient temples and stone statues left from the early Polynesian inhabitants
