  2. Lady Elliot Island is the southern-most coral cay of the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. The island lies 46 nautical miles (85 km; 53 mi) north-east of Bundaberg and is home to a small eco resort and an airstrip, which is serviced daily by flights from Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Maroochydore, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

    Visitors to Lady Elliot Island can experience the magnificient marine life by snorkelling , swimming or diving straight off the beach. Other activities on the island include reef walking, glass bottom boat tours, bird watching and turtle treks. The offshore diving here is fantastic with 10 dive sites including Lighthouse Bommie, Coral Gardens, Moiri, and Shark Pool. The visibility is excellent and ranges from 25 to 50 metres (80 to 185 feet).

    Port Location – There is no wharf at Lady Elliot Island.

    Travel Links – Lady Elliot Island is serviced daily by flights from Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Maroochydore, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

    There are no commercial ferries to the island, and there is no wharf. There are some dive operators which work just off the island, and also some moorings off the island for private craft. Private craft must pay the appropriate fees, and cannot use the resort facilities.
