  1. Punta Moreno (Isabela), Galapagos

  2. Punta Moreno is located on the western shore of Isabela Island, the largest of the Galapagos islands, located at the western edge of the archipelago. Isabela island has active volcanoes including Volcan Cerro Azul and Volcan Wolf. It also boasts rich animal, bird and marine life.

    At Punta Moreno Galapagos penguins and shore birds are frequently seen. Visitors can walk through jagged black lava rock which forms craters and crystal tide pools -some surrounded by mangroves. Here visitors will see small blue lagoons, pink flamingos, blue herons, and Bahama pintail ducks. Brown pelican can also be seen nesting in the green leaves of the mangroves.

    Port Location – The port is located at the main settlement area of Puerto Villamil, lcoated at the south-eastern tip of the island.

    Transport Links – Flights to the Galapagos are relatively easy to arrange and depart from Quito and Guayaquil on a daily basis for the Isla Baltra airport, about two hours by public transport from Puerto Ayora, the main settlement of the Galapagos, on the central island of Santa Cruz.

    On arriving into Baltra, all visitors are immediately transported by bus to one of two docks. The first dock is located in a small bay where the boats cruising the Galápagos await passengers. The second is a ferry dock which connects Baltra to the island of Santa Cruz via the Itabaca Channel.
