  1. Port Overview

  1. Potter Island, Myanmar

  2. Potter Island is part of the Mergui Archipelago, located in southernmost part of Myanmar (Burma) in the Andaman Sea.

The Mergui Archipelago comprises over 800 beautiful islands which are rarely visited and almost completely undeveloped. Due to its virtual isolation, the islands and surrounding seas are alive with an amazing diversity of flora & fauna and very beautiful underwater scenes and marine life. Some islands have the beautiful sandbanks and crystal clean water so sea creatures and animals are easy to see.

There is much to explore amongst the hidden coves and beaches and Potter Island is one of the prettiest places with spectacular white beaches and huge fig trees.

This area is a diver's and boater's paradise.

There are 2,000-odd Moken people or sea gypsies who live among the 800 islands of the Mergui archipelago. The Moken claim that the islands, a chain that stretches some 400km, were detached from the mainland after a great mythological flood.

Cruises are available year round in the region as weather in the South East part is warm all year round - though both cruising and weather are better in the non monsoon period. Weather in the south east of the region is tropical so it is warm and humid all year round. The Tropics don't have seasons as such, they have the wet and dry periods. The wet season or monsoon period is from June to September.
