  1. Port Overview

  1. Sanibel Island, Florida, USA

  2. Located just off the southwest coast of Florida by Fort Myers, Sanibel Island is a barrier island.

The city incorporates the entire island with most of the city at the east end. The Sanibel Causeway was built in 1963 to replace the ferry connecting Sanibel Island with Fort Myers.

Sanibel is known around the world for its shelling beaches, due to the unique geographical orientation, it lays east to west instead of north to south, the beaches act as a scoop and gather seashells. Thousands of visitors each year come to enjoy Sanibel's beaches and hunt for that special shell.

More than half the island is made up of wildlife refuges as well as hosting excellent restaurants and a variety of museums and theatres.

There are over 41kms of bike trails and over 27kms of beautiful beaches.
