  1. Port Overview

  1. Neamati Ghat, India

  2. Neamati Ghat or Nimati Ghat is around 17 kilometres from Jorhat in the Assam region of India and located on the Brahmaputra River.

The city of Jorhat was the last capital of the Ahom Kingdome and is also known for featuring numerous historical monuments. The Nimati River Port is one of the area's strongest attributes, second only to the growth of Jorhat City. The Port serves as the area's administrative headquarters, a commercial carrying depot and has several financial institutions.

Nimati Ghat is also acclaimed as the popular river port of the district and Upper Assam. Moreover, the Nimati River Port is also a functional link for the ferry boats that run to the Kamalabari, Auniati and Majuli Island. For travelers visiting Jorhat, Nimati is an one excellent travel attraction; an excellent getaway for a memorable vacation. Nature plays its best setting here with memorable sunsets and sunrises and indeed fog in the winter months and thus, the bewitching beauty of the region wins the heart of visitors.

Nimati Ghat is surrounded by many wonderful temples and golden fields of rice plants.

River Cruising in India is a largely seasonal affair with most cruises departing between October and May when river levels are at their best. When considering a river cruise in India remember to plan ahead and consult your doctor for vaccinations before a river in India.
