  2. Hai Phong is the third most populated city in Vietnam. It is a coastal city located at the mouth of the Cam River, in Vietnam's northeastern coastal area, 120 km east of Hanoi. It is an important seaport and an important industrial and commercial center.

    Haiphong has many temples, pagodas, mausoleums and shrines, such as ancient Du Hang Pagoda, Nghe Temple and Hang Kenh Communal House. It has a beautifully preserved central colonial quarter with many streets bordered by flame flower trees.

    Do Son Beach, located 20km from Haiphong, is a popular sand strip for bathing. From Do Son, tourist can visit Cat Ba National Park, and continue to Bai Tu Long Bay and Halong Bay (Quang Ninh Province). Haiphong is also famous for many festivals, of which Choi Trau Festival (Do Son Buffalo-fighting festival) in Do Son is unique.

    Frequent buses run from Lương Yên station in Hanoi (near the old quarter) to Tam Bạc station in the centre of Haiphong
