  2. Leith is a town at the mouth of the Water of Leith and is the port of Edinburgh, Scotland. Once a decaying dockland, Leith has been transformed to become one of the city's most exciting and vibrant districts.

    Leith boasts arguably the best concentration of good restaurants (particularly seafood) in Edinburgh. The dock areas are being transformed, most notably the vast building housing the Scottish Executive and the new Ocean Terminal, a shopping and entertainment complex beside which the former Royal Yacht 'Britannia' sits.

    Transport Links - Edinburgh International Airport (EDI) [2], is situated some 10 miles west of the city. Sometimes referred to as "Turnhouse", Edinburgh Airport offers a wide range of domestic and international flights to Europe and North America.
    Waverley Station is a major hub for the Scottish rail network, operated by First Scotrail. The city is served by the major inter-city bus companies from around Scotland and England. Most long distance services start and end in the Bus Station in St Andrew Square. Superfast Ferries sail from Zeebrugge, Belgium to Rosyth, near Edinburgh and passenger liners are a common sight in summer at Leith Docks (north Edinburgh).
