Turnu Severin, Romania

Turnu Severin is a city in Mehedin County, Oltenia, Romania, on the left bank of the Danube, below the Iron Gates. It is a warm and bright city, with a beautiful Mediterranean climate.

More than 20 monuments embellish the face of the city and there are many beautiful parks. Parks worth visiting include the Park of the Roses, the garden "General Dragalina", hosting the ruins of the medieval castle of Severin and the Central Park, designed in English style with a spring fountain and monuments.
